Spring Break Shopping!

Good morning! This week, I'm off work. TH has Spring Break at school (he is a returning student as of last fall, getting his degree in graphic design after being laid off in the winter of 2008-2009), and I haven't had a week off from work since our honeymoon (Sept-Oct of 2008), so I have taken the week off to spend with him and to just have some goddamn time off work! However, he is currently at work (ironic, no?), so I am left here to blog and watch New Moon over and over and over. Speaking of which:
My Target swag: New Moon 2-disc BluRay Special Edition, Twilight graphic novel, and gray sweats (all on sale!)

There were actually plenty of copies when we went Saturday afternoon (I was way too lazy after drinking heavily on Friday night to get to Target anywhere close to opening), and TH insists we buy BluRay whenever possible. I was actually comparing the two special editions (BluRay and regular) to make sure they had the same special features (being thorough, you know), when TH picked up the BluRay copy and thrust it at me, as though we weren't possibly going to buy any other version. It's funny when he chooses to be interested. I perused the rest of the display, but all they had were the Barbies (no action figures), so after picking up the graphic novel, I was pretty much set.

I ended up with a Volturi cell:
The back of Edward's head!!! SQUEEEEE!!!!

Which I couldn't get a better picture of, but overall I'm pretty happy with. I know a bunch of you got Jake, so I'm definitely happy with my lot.

I have not watched the movie yet. I KNOW - I'm a total slacker! I think I'm going to start with all of the special features while TH is at work, and then he might watch the movie with me tonight (we saw a preview on tv last night promoting the DVD, and he went, "That actually looks pretty good. There are wolves." Sadly, he'll probably be Team Jacob, and then I'll be forced to kill him. *sigh*).

Anyway, upon return from Target, my consumerist flame had been lit, and I spent a good part of the rest of the weekend looking at things I could buy online. I definitely need some Twitarded merchandise, so I just have to figure out what exactly I want (probably a sweatshirt - you know, to go with my new sweatpants - but I also like the tanks and coffee mugs, and I don't know how much I can spend without TH noticing...), and then I need to get me some action figures. Mrs Fashion (my Twi-partner-in-crime and companion to FFFOOOOOOOORRRRRRKKKKKSSSSS this Fall) tells me she bought me a present. I don't get it until her son's birthday on Saturday, and she assures me it is not Twilight-related, but TH (who has known her since high school) thinks she may have lied and has advised me not to buy my Edlet (which is what I have decided to call my Pocket Edward) until I see what this present is. So, if I don't have one coming in gift form, I need to choose an Edlet. Amazon has several:

First, there's Twilight Edlet - he is the one most of you have, I think

Then there's New Moon Edlet (Grandpa suit and all)

Then we have SPARKLY New Moon Edlet (does anyone know if there's truth to this sparkliness? To me, he just looks homeless.)

And, finally, we have Edlet and Bella-let (Bellet? Bellslet? Hmm... she might need a different nickname) together in a set, but I hear his sunglasses can't be removed...

Once I started looking at Edlets, of course, I found companions for him. I'll need a Bella, so he doesn't get lonely in my bag (right? How do your Pocket Edwards fare when you're busy?), and I like this one better than the one that comes in the two-pack above:

She just looks a little more relaxed

And then I found Jasper and Alice, who I definitely love, but I'm not sure I love the figures:
Alice looks kind of uptight...
...and Jasper, well...

What the Hell happened with Jasper, everyone? In the movies, now in doll form, it's like he hasn't translated at all. Jackson Rathbone is doing his best, and he portrays the Jasper I imagined, but the costumes, hair, and makeup for Jasper are atrocious. What the fuck, Summit??! I mean, not that the outfits described in the books were super cool (Edward in a sleeveless blouse, anyone?), but the general feel of the characters and how they would dress based on personality and, well, Alice's insistence was most definitely there. Is it too much to ask that they be dressed properly? I'm not even going to touch the hair, because obviously that's a problem no one can solve. Get it together, Summit.

So, since the Jasper doll is a hot mess (IMO), and I'm not in love with what they've done to Alice, I think I'll hold off on the A/J dolls in the hopes that they come out with better options. Which Edlet to get, though, that is the dilemma... which one do you all have? Let me know in the comments...
Happy Mondaying!

I have no dolls **hangs head in shame**, but i would get Twilight Mini-E. He looks the best, in my opinion.

You got a volturi cel?!?!? AWESOME! And the back of Edward's head beats Jake on a friggin motorcycle anyday...dammit.

okay how did you take that pic? I tried taking a pic of my cell and it did not come out anything like that!

and now that i've bragged I've got Edward (sans shirt) I need to prove it for sure!

LOL - you DO need to prove it! I held it up against a light (we have on from IKEA that has an opaque shell, which was perfect for illumination), but I bet you could try it against daylight from a window or something, too... good luck!

@Mrs P - I lean toward Twilight Edlet, too...

Ok now the insanity that is Dangrdafne:

1) I have Twilight Edward and he is my fave.

2) I have an actual sparkle Edward and yes, he does sparkle. Be warned though there are 2 versions: one sparkles, one does not. This is how Nibbles got her Mini-E - I sent her the non-sparkly one :) that I ordered not knowing he wouldn't sparkle. His title was Sparkle Edward but there were no sparkles. When I went back to Amazon I the bought the Sparkle "Sparkle" Edward, not sure if that is an official title but when he arrived, he sparkled :)

3) I have a Jacob from New Moon that I just got and he looks good.

4) I just got a New Moon Jasper too and actually he is ok.

I have no Bella but I would want the Twilight Bella but the only way to get her is with the Edward with shades...I can NOT have another Edward... I know that sounds crazy but my house is being overrun by dolls and I have no children!!

There ya have it, hope I helped a little and if not, well then I just shared just how insane I am for nothing!! LOL!!!

Can I just say I LOVE TARGET ;) That place is so dangerous for me. You go for toilet paper and end up spending $50 on gawd only knows what. PS I see you got some "sweats." JJ from Twitarded will now kick your ass. JK, it's an on going joke. She NEVER wears sweats. I have black yoga pants from Old Navy that I live in. Love them a little too much. I also have a collection of Target PJ bottoms.

I don't have mini-E...but I like the Twilight version best. What's up with Bella? She looks like whatsherface from the Terminator movies. Gahh! Fugly.

I work at 2pm...blah. Rarely work afternoon shifts, but my colleague wanted the day off. No biggie because after tonight, I'm off for 4 days!
xo

OMFuck, Target rocks my socks. I rarely get out of there for less than $100.

@Dangrdafne - all good to know. I'm glad Jasper isn't as spaztastic as he looks in that pic. Srsly. I love me some Jasper, and that did not make me happy.
I think I might get New Moon Bella and Twi-Edlet. Even though she looks like Sarah Connor (and, btw Jen, LMAO at that), I like her better than bundle-y backpack-toting Twi-Bella. Or maybe I will forgo the Bella. I can be Bella. ;-)

@TwiredJen - JJ can BRING IT :-) - I would live in yoga pants and tank tops, if I could. In fact, let's all put our heads together and figure out how I could arrange that. I also love my Target PJ bottoms - see, I'm telling you, we were separated at birth.

I have Twilight Edward, but didn't get him until just a couple months ago. He hangs out in my plant at work during the day. Sometimes he takes pity on a stressed out co-worker and helps her by peeking over her computer monitor.

Trust me it isn't bad if your other half turn out to be Team Jacob. At least he will be into Twilight. Do you really want him wanting the same guy you do? My son is Team Jacob, but that is just because he holds Edward responsible for making him half vampire. ?!?

Hi TM! Well, I don't really want my husband wanting *any* guys, LOL, but I see your point!
