As we used to say in baking school, I assembled my mise en place...
I don't know how closely you read the recipe above, but you may have noticed "lemon juice" was one of the components of this drink. I always have one of those little lemon-shaped lemon juice things in the fridge, so I didn't check to make sure I had it before I went grocery shopping, and, sure enough, no lemon juice in the whole house. So I did what any lazy person does: I scoured the house to find a suitable substitute. Someone had given us a little four-pack of just-add-liquor cocktails, and on the far left there you see the lemon drop from that pack. It was the best I could do (without putting in actual effort), so we'll see how it turns out! (Does this remind you of a certain V-8/tomato juice drink??)
It got a little messy up in my kitchen this week. There was no way to salvage the grenadine for a photo and clean up the mess at the same time, so you get what looks like a mini-E murder scene...
Yum! This is like something I would order for a pre-dinner drink, almost like a cosmo or something. It's sweet, and has a little bite to it. I'm betting it would have more bite and be less sweet if I'd really used lemon juice instead of the lemon drop mixer thingie - that thing has sugar in it. I'll have to try it again with actual lemon juice and let you all know.
I am currently loving that only one of my drinks so far has been absolutely awful. This experiment is going well and my stomach and tastebuds are glad for it. Now, I wanted you all to know that if you find any drink recipes you want me to try (especially if they have Twilight-related names), please e-mail them to me and I will do my best. (No guarantees, but that's life!)

Oh god...I love these posts! You take a new shake picture every time...lolol!! I love the thumb at the end, the pretty glass...and the awesome drink recipe!!!
oh yum, when i grow up i want a fully stocked bar!
(love your button!!!)
mmmmm vodka. This sounds like my kinda drink. I think you should open your own Twilight themed bar!
Did you post this after midnight on the 20th? Or today mid day? Just trying to figure out when you were drinking ;)
Sounds yummy! Love these posts. Keep them up!

I actually do the drinking, usually, on Mondays or Tuesdays and then schedule the post to hit Thursday morning (for our friends on the European continent). However, I drank last night for next week's post. I am a prepared drinker. ;) I'm trying to get ahead so I don't feel pressured to drink so much! So I might do some more this weekend...
Thanks for the button love!
Oh, and @Mox - I love that idea!! There's actually a "Twilight Bar" down from my house, but I don't think they're Twilight themed. I still get a kick out of seeing it. TH wants me to barge in one day and shout, "I love Edward! Who's your favorite???" LMAO
So if you don't spill and make a mess with the red stuff, does the drink taste different? Just a thought.
Wanna hear something kinda creepy cool? We both have 32 followers and the same person as the 32nd follower. Isn't that strange?!
Late to the party...again! I love the fact that you take new pictures every time AND that you posted the spilled grenadine. Kudos on being resourceful with the lemon substitute.

@LwE, that is kind of strange... *hums Twilight Zone theme song*
@Lisa - you can be late to the party, just as long as you show up eventually! Part of my plan this weekend is to organize all my pictures on my laptop so I can stop taking new ones every time, LOL - I bet it'll speed up my drink-making!!
This one looked great but then again me and apple-flavored drinks go way back.
So you are taking suggestions? Have you ever done ice block shots? Doesn't matter what you alcohol you use, it'll be icy cold-like Edward! That's Twilight enough for me! LOL Oh and you'll want to give yourself a good day for recovery before you write your post.
