Alice in Wonderland (and The Hardwicke?)

Well, hello there, kittens! I turned 30 on Monday, who needs a drink? I know I do.
This week, as a birthday present to me, TH made a drink! His chosen concoction? The Alice in Wonderland.

He lined up his ingredients (and a little friend):

(TH loooooves Disney. He has a blog about it. So you know it's serious.)

1 shot Amaretto

1 shot Grand Marnier
(or acceptable substitute)

1 shot Southern Comfort

"Ah-hyuh-hyuh! Golly! Cheers, everyone!"

First of all, you may have noticed that TH stops and lets me take a picture, um, never. So this one is a little different than you're used to. BUT, he made you a bonus. A TH-original. So stay tuned for that.

As for the drink itself, it is strong and sweet, a lot like Alice herself. (Isn't it amazing how that seems to work out?) It needs ice - room temperature is not the best temperature for this drink, so if you make one at home, make it on the rocks. TH added some at my suggestion and was much happier with his drink then. Consider this my drinking expertise I'm sharing with you. I try to use my powers for good.

Can you handle more??? You say you can??? Perhaps... dessert?

I present to you, TH's original creation: The Hardwicke. (He honestly named it that, and I don't know why. I don't even think he knows. All I can get out of him now is a shrug. *sigh*)

His ingredients (there is no recipe):
Edlet eyes Hank Aaron...

A couple scoops of mint chocolate chip ice cream
(this is an action shot because I know I haven't posted a shaker pic in awhile)

"Some" white Creme de Menthe

Drizzle with chocolate syrup

Keep drizzling with chocolate syrup

Enjoy with a spoon (and not a baseball bat, Hank)

WIN!
Happy birthday to ME!

It goes without saying (I hope) that this sundae is DELICIOUS. And easily made alcohol-free, if you are so inclined! I hope you enjoyed TH's semi-guest-post - let me know in the comments!!

Also, let me know: how do you celebrate your birthdays?

If you are young and you drink a great deal it will spoil your health, slow your mind, make you fat – in other words, turn you into an adult. ~ P.J. O’Rourke

Ice cream and booze? Yes please!

I don't do much for my birthday. It's close to Christmas and usually gets lumped into those festivities.

A TH guest post- nice! The drink looks wonderful. I’ll skip the dessert. I have this issue with mint and chocolate being combined ever – classic or not it makes me wretch- sorry TMI.

These were super celebratory!

Umm same grandma that used to swig the blackberry brandy used to serve me vanilla ice cream with creme de menthe over it when I was a kid and you bet I loved it! I like the MR's added choc syrup.

MB, I'm over 30...I don't celebrate my birthday but glad you enjoyed yours!!! ;)

Hank, booze, and chocolate...yes, please!! I am definitely filing this one to try. Tell TH I love it and my mind that's always in the gutter thinks he wasn't thinking of Catherine when he named that drink ;)

@TT - You don't celebrate birthdays because you'd have to tell me when it is :P
